ON THE BLOG

In the last week of the June school holidays, we had our biggest turn out for a Salt Art Jar Workshop with 41 teachers divided into back-to-back 2 sessions! It was really interesting to hear from the teachers the team values that they thought were important, how different and similar they were. The creativity of everyone never ceases to amaze me especially even more so when we have an online workshop because participants learn to make use of different items around their homes, making each artwork so significantly unique.

On 5 June, we had an enjoyable session with parents and children learning about how to develop socio-emotional resilience as a family. I wished we could have met in person but it was still wonderful to see everyone's faces without masks over ZOOM, which was so apt for the topic of expressing our emotions in a healthy way. We saw creative expressions, heard beautiful voices and named our emotions.

In March, we conducted a Sand Art Terrarium Workshop for a group of teachers for their staff wellness day. It was our first in-person workshop of the year after a round of online ones so it was so refreshing for us. The laughter and synergy and occasional banter among the teachers made 'playing' with sand so enjoyable. It was really heartening to hear them share about their values as a teacher and to see how everyone's artwork is unique yet has a cohesive appearance.
